We are delighted to introduce Maria Higson who is Conservatives and Unionist Party Candidate for EASTHAM
Maria Higson is an NHS professional who has worked in London for the past seven years, focused on the future of our health and care services. She currently works in transformation, working with front line clinicians to improve care and addressing the barriers to change. She is a passionate believer in community provision and bringing services to the people who need them. As an engineering graduate, Maria is also interested in how we can make best use of the latest technology, whilst ensuring equal access. Prior to joining the NHS, Maria spent four years working for FTSE 250 firms as a strategy consultant.
Outside of her professional life, Maria's other name is 'Akela'; that's the name her Cubs know her as when she's volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader. She has also previously volunteered in two homeless shelters in London, taking overnight or breakfast shifts. Maria is a previous Camden Councillor who worked on campaigns including the introduction of local debt clinics to support vulnerable residents and the protection of women against harassment.
